Over 250,000 visitors crowd onto the banks of the Thames River and begin the countdown to Big Ben at midnight to see the spectacular ten-minute light show and fireworks display. The party doesn’t end here. There are many after-parties with activities planned for the next day. On the streets of London, you can see a parade complete with marching bands, colorful floats, costumed dancers and a fine procession of the Queen’s horses.

4.Edinburgh, Scotland

Thousand people are here in Edinburgh for the Hoganay festival to celebrate the last day of the Year celebration. You can join to massive street parties, outdoor concerts, where will see world-famous music acts and traditional open-air ceilidh dancing throughout the streets.   12. I’m leaving London (on your list) and heading to Madrid for New Years this year. I’ve heard they throw a practice on the 30th to ensure they get it right the following night! Those Madrilenians really know how to party!!!

  26. I was in London during last new years and it was an incredible experience at London Eye. I sure Paris would be awesome too with its Eiffel Tower!

  27. I started off getting all excited to see such awesome ways in which new years is celebrated in various parts of the world. The photographs look so amazing but then down the line i got so confused as each location is better than the other and it is just impossible to identify the best. I think i’ll just curl up in my hubby’s arm at home 🙂
